Why Maryland Youth Fashion Week?

Maryland youth are plagued with many negative images from the media as well as Baltimore’s historical events. However, Maryland Youth Fashion Week is working overtime to replace that stigma by providing a positive outlet for the youth of Baltimore and the surrounding areas in Maryland.

We want to show the world that Maryland’s youth are very talented. There are so many youth waiting to blossom but oftentimes they need an outlet. Our youth will be empowered from the inside out. Our goal is to provide a positive environment that fosters self-esteem and respect for others. We aim to be a support system for parents by providing various resources that could be helpful to their youth. We want to address those difficult issues that youth are dealing with, such as self-esteem, bullying, violence, and suicide.

From an industry perspective, we want designers to know Maryland youth dare to be different and are looking for unique clothing. We want to give our youth empowering and PROFESSIONAL modeling experiences in diverse and upscale environments. We want to promote youth entrepreneurs and businesses catering to youth. Maryland Youth Fashion Week is all about EMPOWERMENT!

Our Mission:

To provide high quality events catering to youth between school-age and teens via Fashion, Fun, Philanthropy, and Empowerment by doing the following:

  • Providing an outlet for youth in Maryland to showcase their talents and runway abilities.

  • Creating a platform for industry professionals, small businesses and corporations to promote their products to consumers of the youth market.

  • Delivering the highest standards of honesty, integrity and values to our customers and participants.

  • Advocating social responsibility by creating philanthropic partnerships with charities, schools and community organizations.

  • Providing year-round opportunities for youth empowerment via workshops, conferences and speaking engagements.
